Vivo Y400 Pro Launching in India: A Stylish and Powerful Mid-Range Smartphone
Vivo is preparing to launch its latest smartphone, the Vivo Y400 Pro, in India. The launch is scheduled for June 20, 2025, and the phone is already creating buzz in the mid-range market. Vivo’s Y-series has always been popular among users who want good performance, camera quality, and stylish design at a reasonable price. The Vivo Y400 Pro continues this trend with modern features, a curved display, and a powerful processor.
Design and Display
The Vivo Y400 Pro comes with a beautiful design that includes a slim, 3D curved AMOLED display. The screen size is 6 point 77 inches and offers Full HD Plus resolution. It also has a 120 Hertz refresh rate, which means the screen feels very smooth when scrolling or playing games. One of the key highlights is its brightness. The display can reach up to 4500 nits of peak brightness, which makes it easy to use even under bright sunlight.
The back panel of the phone comes in a new color called Freestyle White. It features a marble-like swirl pattern with a mix of white and grey shades. This unique design adds a premium look to the phone, making it stand out among other smartphones in this price range.
Performance and Hardware
Inside the Vivo Y400 Pro is the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 processor. This chipset is made using a 4 nanometer process, which helps in delivering better performance while consuming less battery. Compared to the previous Dimensity 7200 chip, the new one offers around 20 percent better frame rates and improved power efficiency. The phone is expected to come with 8 GB of RAM and will be available in two storage variants – 128 GB and 256 GB.
Camera Features
The camera setup on the Vivo Y400 Pro is also impressive. On the back, there is a dual camera system with a 50 megapixel primary sensor, likely using Sony’s IMX882 sensor, and a 2 megapixel depth sensor for portrait shots. The rear camera also includes a ring LED light that glows around the main camera sensor, as well as a standard flash for better lighting in dark conditions.
For selfies and video calls, the phone has a 32 megapixel front camera placed in a small punch-hole on the screen. This high-resolution selfie camera is ideal for content creators and social media users.
Battery and Charging
Battery life is another area where the Vivo Y400 Pro stands out. It features a large 5500 milliampere-hour battery that can easily last an entire day on regular use. What makes it even better is the 90 watt fast charging support. This allows the phone to charge very quickly, saving users time and adding convenience to their daily routine.
Software and Features
The phone is expected to run on Funtouch OS 15 based on Android 15. Vivo’s software is known for being smooth and feature-rich. The Y400 Pro is likely to support modern artificial intelligence features such as Circle to Search, AI Note Assist, screen translation, and other smart tools to enhance productivity and ease of use.
Additional features include an in-display fingerprint sensor for secure unlocking, IP68 rating for dust and water resistance, and an infrared blaster to control home devices. The volume and power buttons are placed on the side for easy access.
Expected Price and Competition
The Vivo Y400 Pro is expected to be priced under 25000 Indian Rupees, making it a strong competitor in the mid-range smartphone segment. It will compete with devices from brands like Realme, Xiaomi, and OnePlus, especially those offering 5G support and fast charging.
The launch timing is also interesting. It comes shortly after the Vivo T4 Ultra release and just before the launch of other high-end Vivo models like the X200 FE and the X Fold 5. This means Vivo is aiming to cover both budget and premium markets in the coming months.
