Bhubaneswar: Schools Reopen in Odisha After Summer Holidays
After a long summer break, all schools in Odisha have reopened for students. The government had earlier declared summer vacation due to the intense heatwave across the state. Now, with the temperature coming down and the monsoon slowly arriving, students are returning to their classrooms.
On the first day of reopening, schools welcomed students with a fresh and cheerful atmosphere. Teachers greeted the students warmly and helped them settle down in their classrooms. Many schools also conducted special morning assemblies to welcome the children and motivate them for the new academic session.
School authorities have made arrangements to ensure the comfort and safety of students. Drinking water, fans, and medical support have been made available. In some schools, awareness was also created about heat-related precautions like drinking enough water and avoiding playing in the sun.
Attendance on the first day was a bit low in some areas, but it is expected to increase gradually in the coming days. Teachers are also focusing on revising the previous lessons to help students adjust smoothly after the long break.
The Odisha School and Mass Education Department has instructed all schools to follow safety guidelines and maintain cleanliness in classrooms. Regular health checkups and awareness programs are also being planned to keep students healthy during the monsoon season.
Parents across the state have welcomed the reopening decision. Many of them said that children were missing school and were excited to return and meet their friends and teachers.
The government has also asked district education officers to monitor schools closely and ensure that all facilities are working properly. Efforts are being made to cover the syllabus without putting pressure on students.
With schools reopening, a new academic journey begins for lakhs of students in Odisha. Teachers, parents, and students are hopeful for a smooth and successful school year ahead.
